The Community has the famous mountains of Mt. Bukhansan, Baegaksan nearby and Mt. Cheonjangsan, Gaeunsan within the area. Due to its geographical traits, the communities near the mountains used to perform the rites for mountain god by residents themselves. |
| Seven places maintain such rites including Dongmangbong Rite at Bomun-dong, Jeongneung Rite at Jeongneung, Baebawigol Rite, Jeongneung3-dong Rite, Hansandaedong Rite, Bukbawi Rite at Jongam-dong, Dodangje Rite at Seokgwan-dong. These rites are performed under the auspices of each area’s Mountain God Preservation Committee on October 10 of the lunar calendar every year. |
