As a representative cultural and art festival of Seongbuk District, Arirang Festival takes place since 1997. Arirang Festival, which was motivated by the film “Arirang” and was materialized by establishment of Ariranggil well-known as the location of the film “Arirang” as street of film, has now rooted as the symbolic festival of Seongbuk with coexistence of past and future by combining diverse cultural assets and traditional cultures in the District. |
| Also it is a festival to explore and develop the creative and high class contents of culture and arts through positive participation of the area’s eight universities, cultural circles and artists. Arirang Festival of 2008, which took place in the all areas of the District with the main stage at Wolgok Artificial Lawn Ground, started with Seonjamje Ritual and had the performance of Queen’s parade of returning to the palace, parade of film themes, Arirang Film & Music Festival, Arirang Hyo Concert, 70-80 Concert which all the members of family can enjoy together. |

| The festival also arranged various participation events such as harmony festival of university cultures, singing contest of the residents, and sports games. Arirang Festival takes place around May 7, every year, the Day of Seongbuk Residents. | |
