Famous for its bustling with people and high purchasing power, Hanaro Street at Sungshin Women’s University Station has already rooted as the central street of fashion in the northern Seoul. Emerging as the fashion street after operation of Subway Line No. 4 in particular, café street in front of the university was touted as the 2nd Myeong-dong as the paradise of teenagers in 1990s. This area is surrounded by Arirang-gogae connecting Donam Crossroads and jeongneung, Miari-gogae connecting to Miasamgeori and Samseongyo/Hyehwa-dong, streets of culture and arts. | Recently under the slogan of “Seongbuk without smoke”, Hanaro Street attracts people’s attention as the Mecca of antismoking campaign. Since it was established as the street for antismoking campaign, events and festival related to no smoking take place every year and antismoking symbols, mascots, large arch are set up to convey the message of no smoking to the youth and citizens. | |
