In Korea, volume-rate garbage disposal system has been operated since 1995 by way of levying the disposal expenses of household wastes according to their volume so that people are encouraged to make less of waste discharge and to separate the recyclable wastes. |

| Guide to separate disposal by item |
| Recyclable wastes are such as paper, paper packing products, can, glass bottle, plastic goods, etc. |
| Paper: Make sure not to get wet or dirty and not to be mixed up with materials like vinyl, plastic or wires. |
| Paper for packing: Clear away its contents and wash out with water, fold or press to put into bag or bind together for disposal. (※ Don’t mix up with paper.) |
| Can: Clear its contents and remove foreign materials. |
| Glass bottle: Clear its contents and remove foreign materials. |
| Plastic goods: Remove non-plastic lid or stickers for disposal (Plastic goods are made with materials of PE, PP, PS, PVC, PET.) |

| Remove moisture in food wastes and put into standard food wastes bag (light green color) and put to collection container arranged only for food wastes after 6:00 p.m. on the designated dates of the week. |
| Food wastes are collected three times a week by private agencies. (Collection date varies by Dong) |
| For private houses and small restaurants, food wastes collection container will be provided free upon application through community center at the address. |

| As for large-sized wastes such as household appliances and furniture, you have to apply for their disposal through Dong Community Center or the internet. Then, place the wastes for disposal in front of your home with the “certificate of application” attached on the wastes and the Dong Community Center will collect them within 2 or 3 days. You can get the certificate of application at the time of application. Refer to following process. |
